"Whatever happened to the idea of our state universities being an institution of higher learning? We never hear a word about KU or KSU academics, just football and basketball. Lately I wonder if they still employ teachers, or maybe the classroom activities are the support group for sports. College sports are great for school spirit, but it has been turned into a business to make a few select millionaires even more wealthy. Just how much money is enough Lew? How about an expose' on all of the state paid salaries at KU and KSU athletic departments. I'll bet that some teachers there would be green with envy, even though we send our kids off for an education, not just to support sports.

Luckily, my own children are grown and I dont have to be concerned with paying tuition any longer. If one of my kids was still enrolled at KU, I would have to question writing another tuition check."

Yep. All is well in B12-2 country. Without UT, KU is in the MWC. That has been established. All KU has to do is let UT pimp them out and they get to play with the big boys - well, the two of them that exist in their league.

There's a WSU b-school prof who sits on that committee, who frequents this board. He's a big Shocker fan/booster, as he attended WSU for his undergrad at the Barton School. He'll tell you, in confidence (if you are privy), of his dislike for Beakers.

Good luck with that grad school thing! If nothing else (burned bridges and all) you can go and get a non-AACSB "MBA" from one of the adult-accelerated rackets here in town. :lol:
